United Way Leadership Development Programs Now Accepting Applications
Deadline to apply for African American Leadership Development Program is June 29; Deadline to apply for Latino Leadership Development Program is July 27
Rochester, NY – United Way of Greater Rochester’s African American Leadership Development Program (AALDP) and Latino Leadership Development Program (LLDP) are accepting applications for their fall sessions. The development programs provide participants with a variety of leadership, communication and professional skill-building techniques.
Since it’s inception in 1991, 475 individuals have graduated from AALDP, and about 500 have graduated from LLDP since it began in 1982. The training that participants receive ensures the voices of local African Americans and Latinos will be heard on not-for-profit boards and committees throughout the community.
Interested African Americans and Latinos in the Greater Rochester area are encouraged to apply for these innovative training programs. AALDP classes begin on September 18 and continue through September 29. LLDP classes begin September 11 and run through September 20. A special joint session between AALDP and LLDP members will be held on Saturday, September 28. Class size is limited and all participants must receive release time from work to participate. A minimal participation fee will apply to all those selected to participate.
