Day of Caring
2008 Day of Caring Luncheon
Calling all Day of Caring volunteers! The folks at the newly renovated Clarion Riverside Hotel (120 East Main Street, Downtown Rochester) invite you and your co-volunteers to stop by for lunch on Thursday, May 8 anytime between noon and 3:00 PM. We know your Day of Caring projects will allow for breaks at different times, so you and your team are invited to arrive at your convenience.

As a way of caring for those who care, the Clarion Riverside has generously offered to treat our volunteers to say “thank you” for your commitment to making a difference in our community. In addition to a delicious, quick and healthy lunch, you'll also be eligible for great door prizes – including a grand prize* of a weekend getaway for two to the Lakeview Golf Resort and Spa in Morgantown, West Virginia!
Also, this year United Way and the City of Rochester are partnering to host additional education and literacy volunteer Day of Caring projects at several city schools. As part of that effort, M&T Bank is awarding $10,000 through United Way to fund a summer literacy program in five Rochester schools, and to launch a new program geared to ensure classrooms have supplies of books for students. We're asking volunteers who come to the luncheon consider bringing a new book to donate to that effort.
Reservations aren't required. However, so that the Clarion Riverside can adequately prepare for lunch, if you and your co-volunteers plan on attending, please let us know by Friday, May 2. All you need to do is e-mail elaine.stein@uwrochester.org. Thank you for being a part of the 2008 Day of Caring!
*Grand prize includes hotel accommodations, breakfast, and a round of golf for two. You don't need to be present to win, but you do need to attend the luncheon to be eligible for the drawing.
