Become a Leadership Giver

There are many ways to make leadership giving easy and convenient:

Payroll Deduction
By spreading your donation over an entire year, a leadership gift of $1,000 is less than $20 per week! Check with your employer's payroll department to see if your organization can deduct your annual gift through the convenience of payroll deduction.

Direct Payment
You can charge your gift to your American Express, Visa, MasterCard, or Discover by filling out the appropriate sections of your pledge form, or by calling United Way at (585) 242-6418. Or, you may send us a check made payable to United Way of Greater Rochester. Or, donate online.

Gifts of Stock or Shares
Avoid capital gains tax! When you donate stock or mutual fund shares (pdf), you'll qualify for a higher tax deduction than you would by selling the stock and donating the cash. To make a gift of stock, call United Way at (585) 242-6532.

Charitable Gift Funds
Make contributions of cash, marketable securities, or other assets to United Way, and we'll make distributions to charities upon your recommendation and in your name. Distributions may count toward membership in a United Way Leadership Giving Society. Contact Diana Lauria at United Way at (585) 242-6544 for more information.

Howard Wilson Coles Society
The Howard Wilson Coles Society was established to recognize the vital role African Americans play in improving the quality of life in greater Rochester. African American individuals or couples who contribute $1,000 or more annually to United Way of Greater Rochester's fundraising appeal qualify as members of the Howard Wilson Coles Society. Contact Rufus Agnew at United Way at (585) 242-6557 for more information.

Circulo Latino (Latino Circle)
The Circulo Latino was established to recognize the vital role Latinos play in improving the quality of life in greater Rochester. Latino individuals or couples who contribute $1,000 or more annually to United Way of Greater Rochester's fundraising appeal qualify as members of the Circulo Latino. Contact Zory Martinez at United Way at (585) 242-6494 for more information.

Young Leaders Club
If you're 45 or younger and give $1,000 or more annually to United Way ($500 for those under 30), you qualify for membership in the Young Leaders Club, designed to foster a spirit of community involvement among the next generation of leaders.

Fast Track to Tocqueville
If you're interested in joining the Tocqueville Society but aren't quite ready to make a $10,000 gift, United Way's Fast Track program is for you.
